Here’s a brief timeline highlighting how we’ve grown over the years:

• 1983 – GARIBSONS exported their first consignment under the MUGAL Brand (owned trademark and now registered by GARIBSONS in over 60 countries around the world including Pakistan).
• 1998- GARIBSONS set-up the first private sector Rice processing unit supplied by BUHLER (German/ Swiss origin) and SORTEX (English origin). This unit has an installed capacity of 40,000 Mtons per annum.
• 2000- GARIBSONS set-up their second Rice processing unit again supplied by BUHLER and SORTEX. This unit had an installed capacity of 80,000 Mtons per annum.
• 2001- GARIBSONS import a complete Rice Husking & Parboiling unit from India with a capacity of 16,000 Mtons per annum. The unit was established in Sheikhupura (Punjab province). Henceforth GARIBSONS claimed complete Quality Control on Basmati Rice Exports as they now delivered Paddy to Rice.
• 2002 - GARIBSONS set up a Rice processing complex in the Port Qasim Industrial Area. This facility boosted GARIBSONS’ Milling capacity to 80 Mtons per hour and included state-of-the-art Rice milling machinery from BUHLER (German / Swiss origin), SATAKE (Japanese origin) and SORTEX (English origin). State-of-the-art warehousing facilities ensure raw material and finished goods are stored in cool & dry please away from any contamination.
• 2003 - Husking unit is set-up at Jhang (Punjab province). This further extended GARIBSONS’ claim of compete Quality control on Basmati Rice Exports as they deliver Rice from paddy.
• 2005 - Two additional husking units were set-up at GARIBSONS’ facilities in Gharo (Sindh province). Future expansion planning consists of implementing a complete rice parboiling facility for the production of Long Grain Parboiled Rice.

All facilities are complemented with comprehensive laboratory facilities equipped with all essential instruments and staffed by highly experienced analyzers. The rice is tested at regularly defined intervals during the processing to ensure the final quality supplied meets with the customer specifications.

Our wood working complex is situated in Gharo. Making us the largest manufactures of Particle board, MDF, HDF, Door Skins, Doors, Lamination, & Veneering.

Our first fully imported particleboard plant, imported form, SIEMELKAMP Germany was set up in 1976 and the second line was started in 1982, giving Garibsons the larges production capacity of any manufacturer in Pakistan. Consistent high quality, density, and vast range of available sizes made NUBORD (Baggasse based) and NUWUD (Wood base) superior products that they are recognized to be. Sizes range from 8’x4’ to 12’x 4’ in thickness from 6mm to 25mm.

A premium quality Medium Density and High Density Fiberboard known as NUMDF and NUHDF are also produce on the latest plant supplied by SUNDS of Sweden. These products are in a class of their own. With thickness from 2.5mm to 35mm in size of 8’x4’ we have an edge over any other manufacturer. Our quality testing practice in our manufacturing operations guarantee a consistent injection of quality at every stage. Highly trained quality inspectors conduct statistically sound inspections in the state of the art laboratory especially designed to test our boards at every stage of production ensuring that each board that leaves our premises are worthy to carry the Garibsons name.

We are also proud to introduce NUSKIN. A first of its kind project in Pakistan, though our patent moulding process, manufactured on the state of art plant supplied by Washington Iron Works, U.S.A. These door skins are of the highest quality having the largest variety of designs and sizes we have achieved the number one slot.

The boards that we laminate are marketed under the brand name of ARTICA which needs no introduction. Large range of colors and patterns with high quality lamination has made this product famous.

NUDOORS are made from the door skins that we produce and frames are made from the wood that is supplied by our Import Division imports quality soft wood from different destinations. We maintain a complete range of designs and sizes for our customers.

NUFLOORS is the flooring that we make from our HDF. Adding a new dimension to our exiting production lines.

Fancy Veneers are added to our boards on the request of the customer under the brand name of NUVENEER. A large selection is always available.

Our Import Division is very active in the import of soft wood mainly for our door making division and also for the local customers. We are also in the import of all kinds of plywood and fancy panels.

Stevedoring:
Garibsons has nurtured its own in house stevedoring team that based its philosophies on a team of few but dedicated young and experienced individuals guided by the wise heads that have been around and seen it all. the team is geared up for loading vessels of all sizes where Garibsons is the shipper. The port of loading is never a deterring factor.

Clearing and forwarding:
Competency and cost saving are the two most important factors when dealing with this intricate field and by the grace of God, this particular division ensure quick yet smooth procession of custom and port formalities once the goods are ready and stuffed into containers. This facility is not restricted to export but is utilized

In essence, we offer turn key operation with maximum expertise, which takes the headache out of shipping for our valued principals. Presently GARIBSONS (pvt) ltd has milling facilities of 70mt/hr, consisting of 2 state of the art complete BUHLER (Swiss, German machinery), SATAKE (Japanese), 1 European, Chinese combination and three complete Chinese origin plants. These plants are installed at different locations in 5 acres of prime industrial area in the Sind Industrial Trading Estate (SITE) and 20 acres of industrial land at North West Industrial Area of Port Qasim.

5 SORTEX (English origin) machines, including two latest Z series are in operation to cater to the specific client demands. All the equipment is backed with latest lab utilities, including KETT meters, moisture meters, and paddy-to-white rice mini mills. Furthermore, all facilities are 100% equity based, and are exclusively GARIB run and operated.

This infrastructure successfully caters to our export volumes of over 150,000mt of all sorts of long grain rice (basmati (super kernel, 385, D98), Irri 6, Irri 9, brown, white, parboiled in varying polish degrees, graded and sortexed) sesame seeds and lentils. Most of the grains, including rice, are exported in our nationally, and internationally registered brand name “MUGHAL” in over 40 countries globally. Buyers can also opt to procure supplies in their own choice of brands. A state of the art, BUHLER flourmill, produces the finest quality of rice flour only for export purposes world wide under our coveted brand SILVER STAR.

The export of wheat is currently disallowed, but in the years 2001-2002 and 2002-2003, Garibsons was the largest exporter of wheat out of Pakistan. Another feather in the cap would be the company’s selection by the government to put up a 50,000mt grain silo project at Port Qasim. Initial proceedings are already in place.

Apart from being the largest commodity exporter, Garibsons is one of the oldest and largest manufacturer of particle board - using bagasse (sugarcane industrial waste) as the raw material, our brands NUBOARD, NUMDF, NUSKINS, NUDOORS and, NUWUD are nationally famed and registered. At our woodworking complex, spanning 70 acres of land at our Gharo facility, we have installed two of the most modern MDF and HDF plants. This set up shall ultimately be expanded to value addition of particle board, MDF and doorskins.
